comments from musicians ABOUT
JACLYN WORTH'S FIRST CD RELEASE,
"CLASSICALLY JAZZ!":
"Sounds GREAT! Beautiful phrasing! It has some wonderful moments of deep breathing! Your tune selections are outstanding!! I'm hearing Maturity, Love, and Musicianship!"
Charles Lewis, Jazz Pianist and Arranger
"Your CD is very much appreciated, both for the poetic playing and the thought behind it. It is very soothing to listen to, and I wish more people played these works as you do. You do have something special to say in your playing of all of these works, including the Chopin."
Dr. George Fee, Classical Pianist and Music Historian
"Oh, my God! Your playing brought me to tears! It is so very moving! I do think others will be moved by this -- particularly musicians who play these tunes on a regular basis. This is a very unique approach. Beautiful!"
April Spain, Jazz Pianist and Vocalist
The title, "Classically Jazz!" really means, "jazz, classically-speaking," or put another way, jazz with a strong classical imprint.
My first CD release, "Classically Jazz!" is now available for digital download on iTunes, Amazon and Google Music for only $9.99. This music is also available on Spotify, Apple Music and Google Music. On this CD I perform some of my favorites from The Great American Songbook -- tunes that have become jazz standards enjoyed all over the world. These arrangements and the expressive style of playing reflect my classical orientation and background while integrating jazz reharmonizations and chord substitutions that will interest the listener.
COMMENTS FROM MUSICIANS ABOUT LATEST CD, “IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!”
“I think it’s fabulous what you are doing with the Great American Songbook. You are really re-imagining the music for a broad audience that loves these tunes, and you’ve articulated them to be heard in new and fascinating ways. It’s like you have channeled the spirit of Scriabin and some great post-Romantic German composers and revisited the American Songbook with new life and new glasses! I love it so much! It’s wonderful. You are a true artist. You are creating something where there is nothing, like a magician.”
Paul Anthony Romero, pianist/composer of “Heroes” Series
“I’ve never heard any other jazz piano player’s left hand sound like that! Have you played a lot of Scriabin? Your classical training comes through! What you’ve done with these tunes is cool!”
John Rice, Jazz Drummer
The above-referenced CD, my second release, is entitled, “It Could Happen to You!” This project contains some vocals that I enjoyed doing on songs such as, “Too Long in L.A.,” “Nature Boy” and others. All of this music, as well as videos I’ve made performing these tunes, can be found on the same sites as my first CD listed above. You will even find videos of my performances of these tunes in Google Music, as well as on my YouTube Channel.
